albums can be hard to listen to sometimes.  i have met people who struggle to sit through 40-minute albums.  i would imagine that those sorts of people would typically not go out of their way to listen to a plodding quintuple album, much less one with shallow lyricism, poorly-mixed instrumentals, vocal performances that are not only obnoxious but almost always out-of-key, among other things...  

personally i really enjoy longer albums~~ that is, assuming that they have justification to be as long as they are.  two of my favorite albums are the eels' blinking lights and other revelations and the smashing pumpkins' machina, 33 and 48 songs respectively.  had i not heard these overtly bloated albums i certainly would not have written this overtly bloated album of my own!  anyways, both these albums have narratives.  they aren't just songs thrown together, there is a story, things are happening!!

and so, i present to you, the people of commack, an attempt at a narrative-driven album.
